Potato either roasted or boiled and cooked, it’s the topmost favorite snack for me. This grilled potato is my creation, which I casually tried by replacing chicken with boiled potato for trying a new Potato 65 recipe long back ago. From then on, this recipe got a special place in my recipes list and in my family.
It’s a perfect crispy snack for any good occasions. It will change your dull evening to a tasty evening. A quick – easy to prepare snack if you have a few potatoes in hand.
Sharing my win-win potato roast recipe.
Grilled Potato / Roasted Potato
Spiced potatoes roasted/grilled in a grill pan.
- 1/2 kg Potato
- 1 cup Corn Flour
- 1 tsp Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Pepper Powder
- Salt as needed
- 3 tbsp Oil
Boil potatoes to normal and remove the skin. Cut them horizontally to get round shapes as shown.
In a bowl, add all the ingredients - corn flour, chilli powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder, ginger-garlic paste, and salt.
Add enough water to get bajji mix (gravy) consistency. The water has to be added so that it is lightly coated over the potatoes.
Add potato pieces into it and mix well, so that the mix is completely coated over the potato pieces on both sides.
Place a grill pan over the stove top and heat oil.
Arrange the potato pieces on the pan and set the flame to low simmer and fry them until crispy.
Flip over all the pieces to fry the other side. Usually, in low simmer, it will take around 3 to 5 minutes for a side to get the crispiness.
Once both sides are fried to crisp, your grilled potato is ready.
Serves well as a side dish to a great meal or as an evening snack.
