I remember in my childhood days, my father used to buy me thattu vadai in a shop where they gave beetroot chutney as combination with the thattu vadai. Like burger, they used to give two thattu vadais sandwiching with this beetroot chutney in between.
This is kids’ friendly healthy colorful chutney. Beetroot is full of antioxidants and full of vitamins and minerals. So, this health-packed beetroot can be included into kids’ food through beetroot chutney, beetroot dosa, idli, and like those.
Let’s prepare this healthy simple beetroot chutney.
Healthy beetroot chutney prepared with blending beetroot, onion, and curry leaves.
- 2 no Beetroot medium size
- 1 no Big Onion
- 1 tbsp Urad dal
- 2 strips Curry leaves
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Musturd
Remove skin from beetroot and chop them.
Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
Add ural dal and curry leaves.
Then add onion and fry for a minute.
Then add beetroot.
Saute beetroot for two to three minutes. Switch off the flame.
Then wait for few minutes for the heat to go off.
Grind it in a mixie.
Season oil with mustard, urad dal, and curry leaves and add it to the chutney.
Healthy beetroot chutney is ready.
It serves best with Idli and Dosa.
